HEADING INTO THE GREAT ABYSS OF THE "NEW NORMAL"

We wanted to say mahalo for your support over the past several months. It has been really encouraging to see so many of you out for burgers and fish tacos!

Our menus and on-line ordering systems are currently under going some maintenance, we plan to have our new menu and on-line ordering back to you by March 18th at the latest, hopefully earlier.

First let me say that we need your help in recruiting a new “Shift Leader” this is a full time job where you get 3 days off per week! The pay is great, the boss is cool, and you get free food! This is one of the things we need to happen in order to get back to 7 days a week operations.

Secondly the prices for many of our packaging materials and required PPE have skyrocketed along with increases in other areas of the business. So we will be introducing some new menu options that help us both deal with these costs.

In this new normal it looks like we will be operating with less staff (even in my best case scenario I see the return in sales to be at about 80% of pre-covid & pre-volcano) therefore we will have less staff and even less time to take calls, so we will be limiting the telephone menu options and offering additional daily specials and lunch menus for our walk in guests. We will be expanding the Surf Burger on-line order systems in order to offer the entire “telephone menu”. In the new normal we would like to begin to “ween” folks off of telephone ordering. We will also be eliminating the current Zero Contact Payment system as it will simply be redundant with the new on-line offerings.
